Who Are We?

The Environmental Action Group is a group of people who meet regularly to make connections between their faith and our mandate to care for the Earth.

The EAG was formed in 2014 to raise awareness in the Uniting Church of environmental issues and to encourage all our people to see that caring for God’s creation is our core business, a duty for all people. We also want to provide information and resources to help each other reduce our impact on the Earth both as individuals and as a church. We are affiliated with the Effective Living Centre and report to the South Australian Synod Mission Resourcing Committee under justice advocacy.

In particular at this time we are deeply concerned about climate change and are working to encourage the people and governments of Australia to speed up our transition to clean energy and away from fossil fuels, the by-products of which are feeding the warming of our planet.

Our watchword: Caring for God’s creation is our core business
